There are many restaurants in Beijing serving Beijing Duck. The Quanjude Restaurant chain is famous and has several outlets. The largest roast duck restaurant in Beijing is near Hepingmen Gate (Peace Gate). The restaurant is huge: it’s 15,000 m2 with 41 private dining halls. The higher the floor where you eat, the better the quality. Another popular Quanjude Roast Duck restaurant is at 13 Shuaifuyuan Lu in Wangfujing.
Restaurants in the mall + fastfood
Restaurants in the shopping malls are not expensive and have a good quality. An example of a popular shopping mall in Wangfujing is the APM Mall. The building has 6 floors and about 30 restaurants. Most of them are Chinese/Japanese. A very popular restaurant in the APM Mall is Grandma’s House on the 6th floor. It serves Chinese dishes. Western fastfood restaurants in APM Mall are Starbucks, Haagen-Dazs and McDonalds.
Michelin star restaurants
A Michelin Guide will appear in the second half of 2016 with the first results of Shanghai’s culinary scene. A Hong Kong & Macau Michelin Guide was published in november 2015. Michelin gave 23 restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau one or more stars. There is no Michelin Guide yet with Beijing restaurants.
Most expensive restaurant Beijing
The most expensive restaurant in Beijing is Kyoto Kaden Minokichi Kaiseki-Ryori in the Pangu Hotel. Dining in the restaurant is over $1.000 per person.
French cuisine
TRB Temple Restaurant Beijing is perhaps the most popular French restaurant. It has many good reviews on the internet. Prices are expensive. Address is #23, Shatan Beijie, off WuSi DaJie in the Dongcheng District.
Authentic French cuisine is in Restaurant Heritage in the luxury hotel Sofitel Wanda Plaza. Maxim’s Restaurant is in 2 Chongwenmen Xidajie. It’s a subsidiary of the famous Maxim’s de Paris. Maxim’s offers traditional French cuisine. Restaurant Le Cabernet is in front of Novotel Beijing Peace Hotel. Le Cabernet has a traditional French cuisine. Justine’s is in the 4-star Jianguo Hotel Beijing with over 30 years experience in the French cuisine.
Italian cuisine
The best Italian restaurant in Beijing is Danieli’s in the 5-star St. Regis Hotel. Another Italian restaurant is Trattoria La Gondola in the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center. Much cheaper is a meal in the Pizzahut (Wangfujing shopping street 88)
Japanese cuisine
Keikoku restaurant is in the Kunlun Hotel. The restaurant is designed in Japanese style. Guests can have an authentic taste of Japanese cuisine. Hatsune Japanese restaurant is an Californian-Japanese fusion concept. Address is 19 Sanlitun Rd. Nishimura offers authentic Japanese cuisine in a modern ambiance in the Shangri-La Hotel Beijing.
American cuisine
There was a Hard Rock Cafe in Beijing but it seems that it is closed. The official website list only Hong Kong. Holiday Inn Lido Beijing is the Texan Bar & Grill. Grandma’s Kitchen is located at 28 Chengfu Rd, Beijing. TGI Friday’s is an American restaurant chain. They have restaurants in the Friendship Hotel (Zhongguancun South Street), Beijing International Mansion (Jianguomenwai street 19) and the Great World City Shopping Center (Jinhui Road 9).
German cuisine
Restaurant Der Landgraf is located in the Olympic Village. It has several dining rooms and a beer garten. Address is Address:Pu Fang Lu A2,Fang Zhuang,Beijing. A popular microbrewery is the German Paulaner Bräuhaus in the Kempinski Hotel.It’s serving classical German meals, pork and sausages.
Beijing Cuisine
The Beijing cuisine is also called Mandarin Cuisine. Beijing has been the Chinese capital city for centuries. Most dynasties came from the North of China. Therefore the dishes in the Beijing Cuisine are dominated by meat dishes.
